Meet The POLICY Team.

As a policy intern I want to ensure we have all the information we can get about the policies we are interested in. One idea I have for the school is to hold a campus wide clothing drive, as a way to declutter, cut down on overconsumption, and to give back to our community. I find my passion about sustainability in my appreciation and awe of our planet. Everything from our old growth forests to the botanical gardens needs protection and preservation before we lose them forever.

I hope to learn more about sustainable practices while working on policy that would make our campus greener. I have been part of companies that implement sustainable practices, so I know it is possible for others to implement their own ways to protect our environment. I think it all leads back to being informed and learning more everyday about what you can do. While at GCAP I hope to continue learning, and spreading that along.

As a policy team member, I hope to support initiatives that strengthen sustainability efforts on campus. I am particularly interested in protecting spaces like the R'Garden after it has faced recent threats, and in improving awareness of such resources.

I truly enjoy spending time in nature and appreciating the world around us. I'm excited to have the opportunity to work with GCAP to make UCR a hub for sustainable policy and innovation. I hope that through my work I can help protect the campus, communities, and environments we love and thrive in.

I am looking forward to gaining valuable experience in developing and implementing policy to promote sustainability and contribute to the environmental resilience of UCR.
In addition, I am passionate about mitigating food insecurity and food waste at UCR through fostering a better understanding of student behavior and needs.
