The Green Campus Action Plan (GCAP) is a sustainability program under the Associated Student Body of the University of California-Riverside that is 100% student run.
GCAP promotes sustainability through our Green Grants, Large Scale Initiatives, and our Internship programs in order to empower students and departments to pursue sustainability projects of their own.
Our interns can be seen working at 7 different departments on-campus including the R'Closet and the R'Garden working on projects ranging from sustainable food initiatives to a re-used, professional clothing closet.
Green grants are available every quarter for any registered, undergraduate student. Green Grants can provide up to $4,000 for sustainability projects on campus. Previous projects have included a hydroponic garden, the Take back the Tap campaign, an Electric car, and many other projects. Students and organizations who receive grants are also responsible for presenting their work at the end of the quarter.
