UCR's very own Zero Waste Club is a student organization led by people who are interested in living a more sustainable lifestyle and tackling that goal through behavioral observations and adaptations. Zero Waste Club really strives to make sustainability a feasible option for the busy college student who feels that it may be an impossible expectation to meet. Meetings every Friday at 3pm by the Career Center.
EH&S's mission is to provide leadership and services that enhance the research and educational process by integrating excellent health, safety, and environmental practices into the campus culture and activities through the Integrated Safety and Environmental Management (ISEM) system.
The purpose of UCR’s Committee on Sustainability is to facilitate and promote the implementation of sustainability goals, strategies, programs, and resource investments in support of the University of California’s overall sustainability policies and practices. The discipline of sustainability includes a diverse spectrum of instruction, research, and administrative efforts in energy and climate protection, built environments, food production and sourcing, ethical material procurement, recycling and waste management, transportation optimization, and water consumption. The Committee will focus on UC Riverside’s sustainability efforts as the University of California’s policies and net zero carbon goals are carried out.
